Hi y'all!!!
It's a complex exercise to sum up a 2-month trip to the USA... Still a month after setting foot on the old continent, my soul is still vibrating to the beat of the new world. I was first enchanted by the sweet madness of Tucson. Three weeks of Masterclasses were not enough to capture the famous "DESERT SOUNDS". The ARTES training organization, guided by Laurent Allinger, fed us with courses and encounters with the finest local artists, enabling us to grasp the subject from the inside out.
Meetings, but also visits to the region's cultural sites and venues. Saguaro National Park, Tucson Mountain Park's Gates Pass, local studios (Waterworks Recording, Dust & Stone recording, Sergio Mendoza), local legends (Billy Sedlmayr, Brian Lopez, Gabriel Sullivan, John Contreras) and, and, and the list goes on... Three weeks of sunshine, smiles, music, jalapenos, air conditioning, Mezcal and exchanges.

Pre-order campaign for upcoming album
As I announced to you in last August's newsletter entitled “Objectif 2024”, the album “Ray Is - 2024” is currently in production. It was with the help of a few photos that I presented to you the work in progress in the studios of“KLUD Record", supported by "VLAD Productions”. However, there is a final straight line approaching before we can hope to touch the Holy Grail, and I will not be able to complete this final straight line without you. I am indeed going to launch a pre-sales campaign to finance the manufacturing costs of CDs and vinyls. This campaign will begin on January 15.

TUCSON, Arizona.
On the border with Mexico, this “small” American city of 1 million inhabitants is home to a bustling cultural scene. Capital of the musical style "Desert Song" or "Americana", it is also the city which produced renowned musicians such as Howe Gelb (Giant Sand), Xixa, Calexico, Brian Lopez or Billy Sedlmayr.
After these 3 weeks of discoveries and musical learning, I will head to SAN FRANCISCO. A lifelong dream. On the pioneer road… Joaquin Miller, Ina Coolbrith, Gelett Burgess, George Sterling; London, Steinbeck, Gleason, Rexroth, Kerouac… This will also be the subject of one of the titles of 's next album;Ray Is!
If you want to follow these adventures, I will try to keep a regular log on the networks and on my site, without being eager to publish either because I fear I will be slightly busy once there! In any case, you will have the right to a summary when I return, and why not on video!?
So…
The big departure is scheduled for September 16.
So we keep ourselves informed, and we take care of ourselves.

In the early summer of 2023, we set down our suitcases full of microphones and guitars in deepest Brittany, on the banks of a tranquil river called the Blavet, to get some songs in the can. And it's done.
As sound engineer, there's Timothy "Timo" Mehat behind the controls, as available, kind and competent as ever. In collaboration with Galloud Sonorisation (thanks Yves), he did everything possible to choose the perfect microphones and pre-amps, and in short, and I can assure you, the sound is just amazing.
We were warmly welcomed by Erwan Renoux from the Klud Record studio. A week of recording in a home-made studio in the heart of the countryside is an experience to be savored, as the host is so thoughtful and warm. Thank you R1 for this resounding welcome.
And last but not least, Mister Tony Guillou, who was present in the control room during the recording of the vocals to correct the occasional mispronunciation, just as he was during the writing of the texts gaving me his literary advice. He also took the opportunity to exercise his photographic talents... To come...

As some already know, Tony is the co-author of the texts of The Blue Butterpot and he also is for the songs of 𝘙𝘢𝘺 𝘐𝘴, even if the ideas and the writing come from the imaginare of 𝘙𝘢𝘺, which is still not bilingual. But a coming trip to the US next fall may be beneficial to him !

Hello everyone !
It's been 5 months since the first Newsletter of "Ray Is" has been published, 5 months. And for good reason, activities, work, the return of concerts, projects… Life !!!
Let's see what we have to announce… Since its premiere on October 15, 2021, “Ray Is” project has been played 5 times, which is decent… good thing to tell you is that it will continue to turn, slowly perhaps, but surely, because...
I am pleased to introduce you to the one who will now be at the other end of the phone, on the other side of the keyboard, who will be steering the ship (and the diary, laugh!), I have named Captain Maï La Canaille !

On October 15, the premiere of "Ray Is" was performed , a solo acoustic guitar and voice project.
The show was composed of the 4 originals songs of the new EP “INNER JOURNEY” and about twenty re-arranged covers ranging from JC Frank to Warren Zevon, from Jeff Bridges to Kris Drever, including Donovan and Vandaveer…
The fourth set was also embellished, with immense pleasure, by Clément Daniel on the violin, another dimension, another energy, a real sharing. Thank you, Clement !!!
The wish to make it a very intimate evening was granted thanks to the setting up of a listening "lounge" by Yannick, owner of the Captain's Cantine in Baden. We were about 60 people to share the sweetness of an autumn evening, chilly but warmed by the pleasure of meeting. Add to that the glass of punch and the Portuguese tapas (Pinchos !!!) prepared by Yannick. In addition, as L. says: “The decoration of the stage has been worked on and creates a cocooning setting.”
And to finish this newsletter, how can we not thank the evening reporters, two “Eyes” who, each in their own style, captured the atmospheres, the silences and the notes.
